I can't believe there are so little reviews on this ultra-popular series. I live in Colorado and pretty much all my uni colleagues have read and deeply enjoyed The Weaver of Odds!
When I first discovered the first book in the series, I couldn't believe how engaging it was. Deeply layered, original, full of flavour and texture. I fell in love with the book right away, and needless to say I'm pretty much sold for the whole series. I'd buy Blackwick's grocery list if she published it.
Don't let Vivian Amberville slip your attention. It is a rare, precious gem in a genre already saturated by cliches and tropes. I have NEVER read anything more original than The Weaver of Odds. I can honestly say Vivian Amberville deserved infinitely more exposure than it has.
